Portable storage units are made up of containers or pods, which can be left on a site for temporary storage or transported to another place. Portable storage units are perfect for individuals who are moving but intend to take their time packing things. If you need to put items in storage before the move, this is also another way to do it. Contractors usually take advantage of portable storage in various construction sites.

Portable containers usually come in a wide variety of sizes. There are portable storage units that can be as huge as semi trailers. The bigger storage units aren’t recommended for home use but are popularly used in industrial job sites. Residential storage units usually don’t go beyond 30 feet or 9.15 meters.

A popular type of portable storage unit is the POD container. All you need to do is give them a call and then asked for the storage to be delivered at your location. And the good thing is there are no time restraints as long as you maintain an account with them and keep up with its monthly fees.

As soon as the portable unit is delivered, it is up to the person to load and unload it. You can also ask contractors to assist you with the task, such as move companies. But more often not, the company who provides these self storage units also does the moving services.
